ACK AT ICC KYOTO

After the fair, save some time for the building itself. Designed by Sachio Otani and opened in 1966, the Kyoto International Conference Center is a modernist landmark whose trapezoid frames echo gassho-zukuri farmhouses. It normally hosts international conferences, forums and exhibitions, so most visitors never get inside — your ACK pass is the chance to walk its corridors, the lobby with its paper-crane lamps, and the Japanese garden.

看完 ACK，非常推薦留一點時間給主會場國立京都國際會館本身。這棟由建築師大谷幸夫設計、1966 年啟用的現代主義建築，以梯形量體呼應合掌造民家，坐落在寶池畔。這裡平常用來舉辦國際會議、學術論壇與展覽，一般觀光客平時進不去；趁 ACK 期間拿著 ACK pass，好好走一圈長廊、紙鶴吊燈下的大廳，還有日本庭園。
